The project mobilizes four organizations including one steel maker (SCHMIEDEWERKE GRÖDITZ), one die maker (LEBARIO ROMANIA), one end user (2A SPA) and one research center (TECNALIA) with long experience in alloy design, steel making, foundry and metal forming). The consortium partners have been selected by considering carefully their different competences and know how, and fitting them together in complementary roles within the project, avoiding overlaps in the work share. There is a complementarity between them, with also a good distribution over different European countries (3 different countries). All the consortium partners have a long experience in collaborating in R&D&i projects, from regional to international projects, with the presence of explained before 3 industrial enterprises with a clear bet in R&D&i and a research centre.
Tecnalia Research & Innovation is a private non profitable technological research centre, settled in Derio (Spain). TECNALIA operates in all the fields of today and tomorrow’s industry: Industry and Transport, Information and Communication Technologies, Building, Energy and Environment, Innovation Systems and Health and Quality of Life.
Schmiedewerke Gröditz is producing heavy weight forgings for worldwide clients. It employs 725 people at a turnover of 197 Mio € in 2012. The production is based on a steel plant with a 50t furnace, secondary metallurgy and ingot casting.
